🎧 2 Recordings + 1 Upcoming Parent Talk + 1 Big Event for Educators
Where I’ve Been — and Where I’ll Be! 🎤🧠
I had the opportunity to speak in several spaces this summer — and I want to make sure you don’t miss any of them!
Whether you're looking for trusted ADHD advice, parenting support, or just want to stay in the loop with our growing community, here are 3 ways to watch, listen, and connect this month:
🎙️ First (and second): a new episode of ADHD KC Conversations and July’s ADHDKC Parent Talk
I usually co-host ADHD KC Conversations episodes with Lauren Dreher, spotlighting upcoming speakers for our ADHDKC Parent Group. But this time, we changed it up a bit because I’m the July Parent Group speaker (listeners already know me!) and we wanted to introduce Sara Whelan, our new Parent Group Coordinator!
Sara brings deep expertise and a collaborative spirit to the team, and I can’t wait for you to hear her story and learn how she became the ADHD advocate that she is.
We also preview ADHDKC’s July Parent Group Event, where I’ll be presenting on how to manage ADHD medication side effects — a crucial conversation for many families navigating ADHD treatment. It's one of the most commonly requested topics for the Parent Group.
When is the ADHDKC Parent Group Meeting? Jul 15, 2025, 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM CDT
Who can join the talk? Anyone! It’s free, online, and open to the public.
From appetite issues to emotional ups and downs, we’ll talk about what’s common, what’s manageable, and what to watch for in the July talk.

Don’t forget to subscribe on your favorite podcast player to hear each episode! We have short episodes to introduce speakers for upcoming Parent Group Events and longer episodes of the events if they’re recorded.
Even better: subscribe to the ADHDKC Substack to hear about ALL THEIR EVENTS!
🎥 Next: My interview with Dr. Saya Nagori on FemHealth, Inc.
We had a great conversation about how ADHD presents in teens and why it can look so different from ADHD in children — a topic close to my heart both as a pediatrician and an advocate.
💡 If you’ve ever wondered how to support a teen who seems to be struggling with focus, motivation, or emotional regulation, this one’s for you.

🧠 Finally: Upcoming — Bright Minds, Big Potential: Supporting K–12 Students with ADHD
I'll be presenting live at a free NAMI Johnson County workshop designed to equip educators with classroom tools and strategies to support neurodiverse learners — especially those with ADHD.
🎯 Learning goals include:
Appreciate the various presentations of ADHD
Recognizing student behaviors associated with ADHD — even when they hide symptoms well
Learning evidence-based strategies and classroom accommodations
Understand the risks of not recognizing and treating ADHD
Final thoughts
Between community conversations and national platforms, it’s an honor to keep sharing what I’ve learned from patients, parents, and colleagues.
Wherever you are on the ADHD journey — parent, educator, or just learning — thank you for being part of this community. I hope these conversations give you new insights, reassurance, and practical tools to support the neurodivergent people in your life.
